The most striking feature of this digital watch has to be the large and clear LCD. The watch itself is large and chunky, yet feels comfortable on the wrist and doesn’t feel out of place. The display area is about 3.5cm diameter - the main time digits are 1cm tall so easy to read even from a distance. The time is only shown in 12 hr format with a very small P displayed on the left to denote PM. The top line of the display is about half the size of the time and shows weekday (abbreviated to two letters) followed by numerical month and date, so US format rather than UK. The bottom area of the display has a central slightly larger seconds display with space either side for additional annunciators used in other modes. There are four large square buttons surrounding the watch that control backlight, mode, start and reset or selecting and incrementing values in set mode. The backlight is particularly interesting as it illuminates the dark digits with a blue glow rather than the rest of the display, giving an inverted electroluminescent effect. Other features of the watch include a stopwatch with 1/100s resolution plus split mode (freezes the stopwatch time display but continues counting in the background). There’s also a single alarm as well as an hourly chime (beep). Note the stopwatch can continue running in the background whilst you return to main time display. I found it easy to quickly learn the functions of the watch, the button operations are logical and there was no need to refer to the instructions. In summary if you’re a fan of chunky watches or just want a big bold display that’s easy to see, definitely give this watch a try. The watch is splash proof, keeps good time and the backlight is stylish and discrete. The strap has a double buckle and offers plenty of adjustment to suit even the biggest of wrists. Other than the buckle which is metal, the strap and watch are all plastic (as is the front glass) but it seems durable and doesn’t look cheap. In summary good value big and bold retro looking digital watch that’s very easy to read both day and night.

There is nothing particularly remarkable about this watch. It is quite plasticky, large and heavy. It does the day, date and time thing, quite well and also has an alarm and a stopwatch function. The strap is easy to adjust, which is a big plus for me and it will certainly work for some people. Given that there are plenty of similarly priced smart watches, then I am not sure why one would choose this watch over one of them. It isn't obvious how one would replace the battery and the back of the watch would need to be removed via 4 tiny screws. It isn't even particularly well waterproofed. Overall, if you favour simplicity and battery life over smarts and biometrics this watch may find a place with you. It is a bit over large and heavy, for me, and the lack of quality shows. The body is plastic and the glass on my example is slightly pocked. The instructions refer to buttons that are not labelled, as such, on the diagram and so it is all a bit poor to be honest. I think 3 stars is fair enough. It will do a job and it isn't expensive but it may also be worth shopping around.

I like this military-style watch, but my only complaint is that it feels a bit chunky. I suppose that’s part of the design, but it does feel a little heavy for my liking. On the positive side, it has a clear LCD display, an adjustable strap, and four large square buttons for setting the date, time, stopwatch, and alarm features. However, I'm unsure if I've accidentally pressed something because it chimes on the hour every hour. I would like to figure out how to stop this. Perhaps it’s a reminder that it’s time to join my fellow Marine commandos for training.

This is a good basic digital watch. Comes with a clear display that is able to be illuminated at night (not the back just the numbers! Has an alarm and stopwatch function which are super easy to use. Also has the ability to chime on the hour (not sure why you would want that though. The face itself is rather large added to that the strap is plastic and the moulding around the watch offers little movement, making it quite bulky. As for water resistance, rated at 5atm its survived 90 mins of sea swimming so far.
